Disney has released new teaser information and finally a release date on their first Polynesian Princess, Moana. Moana will be introduced to the world in Fall of 2016.
Moana has been in the works and in the rumor mill since 2011, at the completion of the Princess and the Frog. The new film promises to continue on the path of the independent princess as opposed to Disney's more 'classic' variety. Moana will be sailing off on a quest that promises adventure and excitement for everyone involved. While we don't know yet if it promises to be a musical ala Frozen the film will be scored by Mark Mancina of Lion King fame.
Rumors, rumors everywhere! But hopefully we will have some real news soon to report on Moana and maybe even a teaser trailer.

Big Hero Six is coming to Disney Parks!
While the dates are not clear yet, Big Hero Six's Hiro and Baymax should be appearing at Disney parks by mid-November. Initial rumors say that Hiro should be a face (not wearing a mask) character, meaning that interactions should be much more fun. Baymax will be appearing as his giant marshmallow self, not in his armor. On the East Coast the Big Hero Six characters will be appearing at Hollywood Studios in the Animation building. On the West Coast they will be located in Tomorrow Land in Disneyland.
Time will tell if they become a permanent placement or are more temporary. The space at Hollywood Studios is traditionally used by the latest movie release, meaning they could be there for months to years. The space at Disneyland is as of yet not completely defined meaning their time may be limited before they end up partially retired and brought out for special events and the like.
The movie releases on November 7th, which is good news because then my kids can start quoting the movie instead of the commercial over, and over, and over again.

I've been known to joke that my children think Mickey Mouse is a closer relative than a good number of their REAL relatives. That's not entirely inaccurate. Through moves cross country and overseas the one steady influence in my children's lives has been time spent at Disney Destinations and in the world of Disney movies and cartoons. My children, in their own way, have grown up Disney.
This blog will be a sort of catch all. You'll get to hear about our latest exploits, lessons learned, information about the Disney parks, and information on other Disney items or features. I'll confess, we also have a slightly geeky bend in this household so Star Wars and Marvel are bound to pop up from time to time as well. I'll try to keep things as informative as possible. I hope to hear from you, my audience, so that we all get some extra insight on Parenting in Neverland.
